MASKS by Maria-Aurelia Riese

I am haunted always by the feeling that I have lived before.
A sense of sadness present within me.
A sense of sadness present within me.
Masks are creatures, souls frozen in time, suspended on ribbons of film.
They are fragmented shadows delicately trapped between coloured layers, waiting for me to compose a new life.
I do not look for them,
they find me,
speaking to me form my subconscious memory.
I want their voices to be heard.
I want to acknowledge their existence.
This is a celebration.
It is a ceremonial letting go.
Setting free the ghosts of memory.
